About this fun page

Emily

I’m Emily, a home cook living in Bath, England, with my husband, our two teenagers and a tabby cat who appears in the kitchen whenever anything involving butter is being prepared. I grew up around simple family meals, Sunday roasts and homemade puddings, and I still prefer food that is generous, familiar and made to be shared. I keep a handwritten notebook beside the cooker, although it contains as many crossed-out timings and gravy stains as useful notes. I began following Delia Smith because she explains the parts of cooking that other recipes often assume you already understand. I appreciate her calm, methodical instructions, precise timings and willingness to treat basic skills seriously. Whether the subject is eggs, sauces, pastry, a traditional pudding or a roast dinner, her approach helps me understand what I should be looking for at each stage rather than simply telling me to continue until the food is done. I decided to maintain this fan page because Delia’s recipes are among the ones I return to most often when I want a dependable result. I enjoy testing them in my own kitchen, noting which equipment works best, comparing similar dishes and recording the small details that made a difference. I sometimes make sensible adjustments for the ingredients available to me, but I try not to change a recipe so much that its original character disappears. I hope this page helps visitors discover reliable family meals, seasonal baking, comforting British dishes and useful techniques they can carry into other recipes. My aim is to share honest kitchen notes, personal favourites and practical observations from one home cook to another. This is an independent fan page: I do not know or work for Delia Smith, and the page is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by her or her representatives.

Mini christmas cakes

A no-bake festive bite made by finely processing dried fruit, ground almonds, glacé ginger, orange zest, and mixed spice, then shaping the mixture into eight tiny squares. Marzipan and white icing stars overlap on top, with silver balls adding the final Christmas sparkle.
